About the Artist

BS"D

Leia's art is a spiritual tapestry woven with whimsy and kaleidoscopic wonder, seamlessly blending reflective elements with playful expressions. Drawing inspiration from poetry, prayers, and meditations, her creations unfold as landscapes for profound self-discovery.

Observers are invited into a harmonious interplay of the spiritual and the playful, discovering facets of themselves as they engage with her work. Leia's art acknowledges the perpetual presence of an inner child amidst life's practicalities, offering vibrant strokes and evocative compositions as a portal to reconnect with authenticity.

Through this transformative journey, she beckons you to tap into your majestically Divine soul-essence, fostering a deeper sense of inner peace, love, and the radiant lightness of being—the celebration of the beautiful soul that you are.

In Leia's words...

Shalom, hi sweet friend!

I am a creative Jewish soul, blessed to be a mom, grandma, daughter, aunt, niece, and a friend. While my immediate family calls me Leia'Leh (lay-ah-leh), you might come across some of my past work under the legal spelling of my name, Leah Chamish. My middle name is Leiba. It's all me :)

For the past twenty years, I've been on quite a journey as a muralist, painting stories on walls (see some of my murals here) However, life led me to explore a new path - life coaching. I've trained at The Co-Active Training Institute and dove into The Positive Intelligence Program, focusing on mental fitness and personal transformation.

More recently, I reconnected with my art and have been delving into the world of digital art and surface pattern design, having taken both Bonnie Christine's Immersion course and Stacie Bloomfield's Leverage Your Art course. Currently (2023-2024) I am immersed in Miriam Shulman's Artist Incubator program and am loving it!  Recently my path of digital art immersion fused with my past expererience creating murals to create the "Soulstrations" series - Art to make your soul sing.

In addition to art and coaching, I love to write and share. I authored the "BS”D 30 Day Gratitude Journal" and the "Ahavat Shabbat Kosher Cookbook" with 50 family-favorite Shabbos recipes, as well as a self-compassion themed book featuring many of my very first Soulstrations:  "The Treasured Chest ; poetry and illustration for coloring and contemplation"  I created these books in gratitude, from a place deep within - to nurture and uplift the spirit, and quite simply - to spread the love :)

I live in a cozy country cottage home in Rockland County, New York. During my free time, when I'm not sketching or painting, you might find me enjoying coffee with family and friends, baking pancakes for my grand-kiddos or writing in the Soulstration journal I designed specifically for morning pages - an exercise from Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way. I'm a huge fan of her work!

Random loves: Birds, especially hummingbirds and peacocks, butterflies, purple, amethyst dark chocolate, brownies, creamsicles, flea markets, museums, libraries, and board games - Rummikub anyone?

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me better. I invite you to hop onto my email list for a more personal and fun connection, where I share my creative journey, books, places and things that inspire me - ones I feel may inspire you, too. Of course you'll also get an insider's peek at new art and release dates!

I warmly welcome you to my art-venture.

Life's better together, wouldn't you say?

Stay uplifted!

B'Ahava, with love,

Leia
