Beauty in Brooklyn

Beauty in Brooklyn

It’s been a full few days, in a number of ways. My heart feels full too, in feeling the support for Israel from all over, from so many. It has me feeling hopeful to say the least. The unity, the love, the devotion… Keep sharing your light and I’ll keep sharing mine.🕯🕯💜

Speaking of light, how beautiful is this view. Can you guess where it is?

Ok, maybe that’s not being fair - it could be anywhere - here’s another angle:

Yup, that’s the Verrazano Bridge - in Brooklyn, New York, my hometown.

Took these photos from Bay Parkway this Sunday while visiting my mom. Looking at these photos, it’s hard to believe there’s a Target just a few short feet away. Consider it my ‘stop and smell the roses’ moment - well, it was more like seaweed, but serene none-the-less.

This week’s “artist date”

You might be able to tell that the pictures above were taken close to sunset. That’s because I spent most of the earlier part of the day browsing at The Other Art Fair. Enjoy the 30 second video clip below:

Come on in

Wish I could tell you that I came home with a fabulous piece, but what I did take with me was a fresh feeling of excitement. I came away thinking, I could totally do this!! Who knows, maybe one day I’ll have a booth, too. Would you come by? Now, that would be fun!

I’m nearly done with the painting I shared in my previous post - just want to add a touch of gold leaf. Everything looks brighter with a bit of glimmer and shimmer :)

Books - Peek of the week:

My pile of books is forever growing (can you relate?), and this book has been patiently waiting: Lioness: Golda Meir and the Nation of Israel  by Francine Klagsbrun. It’s over 800 pages - so it may take me a lonnnng while. I read the intro and can’t wait to dive in.

Also, I am re-reading The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran. I got some nuggets from it the first time around, but I could use a refresher for the weeks ahead. If year-long goals feel like too much of a stretch then you might appreciate the author’s tips, too.

Signing off with a Soul Note:

Trying out something new! Would love to hear your thoughts. These notes, born in my morning journal, are my way of connecting with myself after doing a quick body-mind-soul check-in. They're personal - a little note to myself that somehow feels just right for the day.

After about a year of writing these soul-notes to myself, I began to share them in my Instagram 'stories' in hopes that they lift someone else's spirit as they do my own. I figured even if it hits home for only one person, it will be worth the vulnerability on my end. I am humbled and happy to say - that they actually do connect with more than a few sweet peeps - and each time someone texts me a comment on how they were moved by a soul-note, I am uplifted, too!

Today, I thought, why not share one with you - consider it a hug in type :)

B’Ahava, with love - and balloons filled with blessings,

Stay Uplifted!

Leia
